All-Time High Coffee Export From CCT



Cooperativa Cafe Timor (CCT) is exporting $12 million-worth of coffee this year­its highest production level so far­after buying 18,000 metric tons of coffee cherry from farmer members.

USAID is supporting CCT through the Timor Economic Rehabilitation Program implemented by the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA). In early 2008, USAID launched a public-private partnership with a major U.S. trade and investment company, Cooperative Business International, to further help the 22,000 coffee farmers’ who are members of this cooperative to meet the increasingly sophisticated demands of the international coffee market.
